Notion™ makes it simple to write and edit your musical ideas quickly, then hear them played back with superb orchestral samples recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, as well as guitar samples by Neil Zaza, bass samples by Victor Wooten, and drum samples by Roy “Futureman” Wooten. Compose to picture with Notion’s video window. Only Notion allows you to create a score on your Mac or Windows computer and transfer it to your iPad, where you can continue to edit and play back your music. Notion plays well with others: You can share files via MusicXML and use Notion as a ReWire host or slave. And it comes with PreSonus® Native Effects Limiter, Compressor, and Pro EQ plug-ins. 

New in Notion 5!

Notion 5 makes it easier than ever for you to write your ideas quickly and includes a new video window, new effects from PreSonus Studio One, an enhanced chord library, a custom rules editor, and many notation and publishing improvements.

Notation improvements make Notion 5 even faster and easier to use than previous versions, including an enharmonic spelling tool, cross-staff notation, layout and printing improvements, and new shortcut sets. You also get an enhanced chord library with more library chords, user-created chords, and recent-chord recall.

Major new Notion 5 features include:

  • Studio: Video window (64-bit Windows and Mac) and new Film Score staff and tools; the ability to bounce all stems; 8 buses (4 more than in Notion 4); audio upsampling for export; support for new VST libraries
  • PreSonus plug-ins: Includes three PreSonus Native Effects plug-ins from Studio One®: Limiter, Compressor, EQ
  • Custom Rules Editor: New editor for creating custom rules for VST sound libraries makes it faster and easier to use third-party libraries and helps you avoid time-consuming syntax errors
  • Notation: Many notation improvements make Notion the fastest and easiest scoring software on the planet, including new enharmonic spelling tool, cross-staff notation, layout and printing improvements, and new shortcut sets.
  • Chords: An enhanced chord library provides more library chords, user created chords, and Recent Chord Recall
